LITERACY IN ACTION The UNLV chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in partnership with the Clark County School District (CCSD), is engaged in a project to promote literacy. “Literacy in Action” will videotape 15 Las Vegas individuals reading stories for second and third graders. The stories will relate to the readers’ lives, such as a firefighter reading a story about a firefighter, an artist reading a story about art, etc. The goal is to show children that reading relates to all that they will do in life. Dr. Rex Liu was one of those interviewed for this DVD. This videotape has been made available for educators throughout the Clark County School District and online at http://clubs.unlv.edu/phikappaphi/literacy.html.
